ID: Tunnel Book The Sea - ECD Happy Birthday Small, Friends Always - I Shut My Eyes card
size: 6"w x 7.5"h x 3/4"thick (booklet closed)

Created: September 7, 2017
Modified:

I came across the Heartfelt Creations layered shadowbox cards and decided to make something similar but with my own twists... It's a take on the box cards I made HERE and HERE and then added pages to it. I'm also using mostly Designs By Ryn sea stamps "Sea Creatures 1", and "Sea Creatures 2"

If you would like to see the other tunnel book, click HERE

I'm using a brand new die and a couple from a previous release from an A Way With Words dies "Happy Birthday Small", "Friends", "Always" from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design HERE, HERE, HERE

And using a bunch of quote stamps from Quietfire Design,

("Friends Are Those Rare Creatures"); ("Twirl and Enjoy" 3pce set); ("Always Believe"); ("I Shut My Eyes");

Scored, folded and created the booklet using Fabriano speckled green cardstock. The main booklet was created from a 15.5" x 11.5" piece of cardstock plus the page inserts. The pages are held in place by an accordion fold structure.

Cut the ovals using Elizabeth Craft Designs "Stitched Ovals" die set starting with a large one and progressing smaller each layer. (I kept the fall out ovals for a future use...and using the mid sized one on the inside back cover). Pages were decorated prior to adhering to booklet.

After creating the box/booklet, I adhered a pale blue/silver Sari ribbon around the edges. This was both decorative and helps strengthen the frame and structure.

I created electronic cut files of all my stamp images, then cut them from a 110# white cardstock. Inked the stamps and stamped onto the cut shape. Used a wet paintbrush to move the inks around.

The clusters of shells is from Evo (they are no longer in business - sigh).

The fantailed type fish is a new acquisition from Carabelle Studio "Happy As A Fish" 2pce set. Added a small pink pearl to the eye.

The rest of the images are from Designs By Ryn.

Die cut the "Happy Birthday Small" from a recycled box of Bernard Callebaut Chocolates... It was such a nice metallic copper cardstock...

Added a 2Toned blue ribbon closure with a velcro tab to hold it closed and added the shell charm.

Side view of ribbon. Back side of cover and front of page 1

On the back side of an image that was viewable on the reverse page, I inked the stamp, stamped onto some fun foam and then immediately pressed the backside of my cut image to the inking creating a second generation stamping.

I used the positive side of the clusters of shells, positioning it as good as possible to cover the image from the front, cutting off a piece here and there.

Die cut the "Friends from black cardstock.

The jelly fish and the squid are images I found online, electronically cut them and then colored and inked with various Distress pads, both regular and oxides.

The seahorse and coral are Desigsn By Ryn.

"Always" die cut from black cardstock

Back side of page 1 and front of page 2

Stamped the quote onto a scarp pice of the speckled green cardstock using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Simply cut a rectangle and strategically adhere to the page.

Rest of the stamps are Designs By Ryn

The octopus is another image I found on line and hand colored with Distress pads etc.

Stamped the "Enjoy Your Day" with the black and clear embossed.

The rest of the images are Designs By Ryn.

Back side of page 2 and back of back cover

Stamped the quote with the black and clear embossed.
