ATC A Month - Themes Egypt, Indigo & Halloween (October 2007)

"Egypt"

Modified: July 10, 2008

These 7 ATC's start out with a piece of yellow textured cardstock which I printed through my computer with Hieroglyphic symbols I had collected for a previous project. I ran some Distress pads (Walnut Stain, Fired Brick, Mustard Seed & Antique paper) over the textured cardstock to mute the yellow (which was stronger than I wanted) and give a papyrus look to it. I then used my sewing machine with a small needle (#70 ball point) and a large spacing zig zag stitch to sew on 3 different yarn fibers with metallic threads running through them (again to give a more papyrus look to it). I then cut up the cardstock into ATC pieces. Mounted or double mounted them onto turquoise, black or gold metallic cardstock.

Punched out letters using my Sizzlets long alphabet die and just white cardstock, then painted them either with a Pentel metallic blue brush pen or with a Pentel black mini pocket brush pen and then drew a line through the letter using a Sakura Gold "Black" gel pen.

The 3D elements use my recently made molds from charms using Suze Weinberg "Pour n Mold" and then either polymer clay pressed in  or embossing powder melted in the oven.
