ID: WC for Cards - Day 1 - Thinking of You card
size: 5"w x 7"h (Tri-fold card closed)

Created: May 6, 2014

On the first day I tried this technique without much success using Canson 90#CP watercolor paper & a Moroccan Tiles stencil by My favorite Things. The paper buckled even though it was under acrylic plates and the image didn't seep through like the sample. Sigh!! So I tried it again but this time I used Arches 90#HP watercolor paper and a Prima Stencil "of a weave pattern" - it work like a charm... Tried it again overnight and it worked again. BIG GRIN.

I'm also using a  sentiment stamp on the outside, and a couple quote stamps on the inside plus some image stamps from  Quietfire Design

Watercolor Wash with stencils technique with Jennifer Rzasa

I taped down my watercolor paper onto an acrylic plate, brushed with water, then brushed with various watercolors, while still wet, lay down my stencil and then another acrylic plate and then under a heavy object. It takes a while to dry enough before you can heat dry it to finish the technique.

I scored and folded my white cardstock to create a tri-fold card. Trimmed and layered my background onto purple cardstock then on to the front flap.

Stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Die cut with Spellbinders oval set, sponged some "Seedless Preserves" around the edges. Punched two holes and inserted purple toned eyelets. Strung my purple twine through the holes then adhered the oval to the card and the ends to the card using a glue gun. Added the flourish rhinestones.

Repeated the same layer process on the inside flap and stamped the quote with the black and clear embossed.

On the inside, stamped the quote and the inkwell with the black. for the quill pen, inked it with Distress markers (yellow & blue), misted with water and stamped.
