First day of an online watercolors for card class. I love using watercolors, and am pretty adept with them, but find I usually don't reach for them as my #1 choice of art supplies... So I thought I'd take the class to maybe start getting in the habit. BIG GRIN.

I'm also using a couple words from 2 quote stamps from  Quietfire Design

Emboss Resist - Watercolor Wash technique with Kristina Werner

For this technique we used a large open type background stamp (Impression Obsession "Circle Swirls") on Canson 90# wc paper.

I stamped using Versamark and clear embossed. Wet the paper and started applying my watercolors, merging the edges from one color to the next. Let dry.

Used Sizzix "Fun Serif" lower case alphabet set and cut each letter individually. Adhered the background to my side folded dark green card.

Stamped the words "your day" masking the stamp and stamping with versafine Black Onyx and clear embossing on drafting vellum. Die cut with Spellbinders oval set, edged with a Krylon gold leafing pen and adhered with Glossy Accents.

Card at right:
For the card at right I used the drop out letters from above. The background was my first attempt at the acrylic block blending... didn't like it as much so set it aside...

Adhered it to an orangey cardstock using my Perfect Layers ruler and trimming 1/8". Adhered the fuchsia ribbon and then the Memory Box "Poppy" flowers, then the letters. Adhered all of this then to the lavender side folded card.
