ID: WC for Cards - Day 11 - Painted Vellum - Tranquility card
Size: 5"w x 7"h

Created: May 16, 2014
Modified:

This is the 11th day of the online watercolor for cards class.

Kathy stamped embossed with white embossing powder for her whole card, painted and then flipped the image so the embossed area was touching the cardstock.  As I was creating mine, I changed that up a bit...

I'm using a sentiment stamp from  Quietfire Design.

Painted Vellum technique with Kathy Racoosin

Stamped the fish (Local King Rubber "Koi Fish") with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. Created a mask for the fish and then stamped the foliage. The tall seaweed (Starving Artistamps "Grassy Seaweed") I stamped with Distress "Mowed Lawn" and clear embossed. The "Bold Seaweed" (Starving Artistamp) all were stamped with versafine Black Onyx, but one accidently got embossed with white embossing powder, the other two with clear embossing.

Painted everything with Derwent watercolor pencils both regular and Inktense, touching my wet brush to the pencil tip.

Cut the vellum using the outline of a Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle, then cut a shadow layer of white cardstock. Attached the starfish with a mini blue brad and added a larger turquoise brad on the other corner. Adhered to a light blue Ruche cardstock, then on to my dark blue side folded card.

Adhered some blue variegated Sari ribbon and created a doodad type bow with picot ends. Adhered with a hot glue gun then adhered a blue shell button.

Stamped the sentiment with Versafine "Majestic Blue" and clear embossed.
