MC July/14 - Oval Side Easel -
Stencil Bump - HB card
Created: July 1, 2014 I came across a painting video on You Tube called "Stencil Bump" by the http://blog.paperartsy.co.uk/ blog using stencils and then shifting the stencil slightly to create a shadow. This is not something new and it's definitely something I've done before, but this time using acrylic paints, which I rarely use for card making... I'm also using sentiment stamps and a quote stamp from Quietfire Design

I started by painting the background using Distress paint daubers in similar colors as the video, then working it a bit more with a sponge on 65# Neenah White cardstock. Dried, then started sponging on colors through the 12 x 12" stencil (Prima Marketing). Dried and shifted the stencil applying the Picket Fence dauber. Dried and applied a 2nd layer of the white. Dried, then eCut the oval with my electronic cutter. Also cutting a white shadow layer. Stamped the "Happy Birthday using Versafine "Smokey Grey" and then doing some with "Black Onyx", clear embossing the black ones. Sponged some Distress "Walnut Stain" around the edges. Put the stencil back in place and added some faux stitching around some of the circles using a micron pen. Used the shadow layer to create my oval side easel. Tied a Sari ribbon around my background oval and a multi loop bow - shabby chic style.... Adhered to my shadow layer, then on to my easel. Adhered various colors and shapes of buttons. Covered the floor of the easel with the backside of some scrap paper created when spraying petals with various inks. Same as from when I created this flower card Stamped the quote with the black. Adhered the pearl flourishes and added a few more buttons, a couple of them act as the stopper. |
