I got this Couture Creations embossing folder the other day and really loved it, so much so I created 3 cards with it... You can see the third card HERE. The Sympathy card was the first one I made.

And I'm using one of the 10 Tiny Sentiment stamps from Quietfire Design..

Ran my off white cardstock through my machine with the "Breeze" folder. Inked one side of the design with a Perfect Medium pad and embossed with Pearlescent embossing powder. Sponged Distress "Gathered Twigs over the whole embossed area to get into the crevices. Also sponged around the edges of the other side. Adhered to a Kraft card.

Stamped my sentiment with Versafine Vintage Sepia and clear embossed.

Lay a piece of Sookwang tape down and then stated to pleat my dark brown/white polka dotted ribbon. Adhered a piece of Sookwang tape to a narrow cream toned ribbon and adhered that along the center of my pleated ribbon.

Scored a piece of cream toned cardstock, then used my rubber mallet and a Spellbinders border die (Floral Doily Accents set) and cut one side of the die. Adhered the rosette to a punched out circle, then added the larger smoky rhinestone heart.

The embossed piece I used for this card was one of my discards using the Brilliance pigment ink pads Silver & gold and embossing with the appropriate embossing powder.... I started sponging the right hand side and liked the results. Then I thought of making it a long type of card with the curved design running the length... Then I split the design and decided to curve the edge of the card as well and have it as a gate fold. Anyway, one thing led to another as it usually does...

So ran a piece of white cardstock through my machine in the curve area and did that 3 times, matching the end of the curve to the embossing folder to get my length. Cut out the curve, sponged with Distress Scattered Straw and Dried Marigold, clear embossed.

Stamped the French sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.

Adhered my halves to my card front trimming where necessary. Adhered my curve. Now I needed something to hold the card closed... So hand cut a rectangle from some scrap silver embossed cardstock on my desk, which I folded in half to get a double thickness. On the lower one I cut slots for my ties. Adhered a large amber rhinestone rectangle. The ties are made from Grungepaper and stained with Distress Stains "Tarnished Brass". The left tie is attached to the card and wrapped around the slot in the buckle. The right tie is only anchored on the right edge and slips into the right hand slot of the buckle.

I should have thought of the flourished border (Quietfire Design) at the beginning... but only thought of it at the end, so had to mask my areas to stamp using Perfect Medium and embossing with the pearlescent embossing powder. Looks silvery.

I stamped another quote (Quietfire Design) on the inside on parchment toned paper  using the Black, then decided to use the embossing folder to add the some interest. I very lightly tapped my mallet on the folder, then lightly sponged the area with my dirty brown sponge.
