MC Dec/12 - CC Breeze - Peace card
Created: December 9, 2012 I got this Couture Creations embossing folder the other day and really loved it, so much so I created 3 cards with it... My friend came over and asked me how I would do silver and gold... got me thinking... because I don't usually color my embossed images with pigment ink, and the first couple of embossed designs I made, the ink looked "Yuk". You can see the other two cards HERE. And I'm using one of the Xmas Textured Words from Quietfire Design..

Inked up my embossing folder "Breeze"
with Brilliance Silver and gold and then ran through my machine and
carefully sprinkled the embossing powder (Queen's Gold & Detailed
Silver) on the appropriate areas, heat set. I then sponged Distress
Festive Berry on the gold side, and Evergreen Bough on the silver
side. Absolutely love the way the gold and red complimented each
other. Bummer you can't see it in real life... Since one of the challenges I'm entering this week, called for vintage, I sponged some Gathered Twigs over the silver to give it a more aged look. Adhered this layer to a pearlized patterned paper (from my Paper Roots stash), then onto my red main card. Stamped my sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx. Adhered narrow ribbon in red and green to a piece of Sookwang tape, then on to the bottom section of my embossed element. Adhered a piece of vintage lace below that. Then tied some beige twine onto my mother of pearl star buttons, and glued them to the card front. As a final touch added the hologram green dots. |
