Size: 5.25" h x 7.5" w I recently introduced a friend of mine to using nice postage stamps rather than just buying the generic stamps. So I thought I'd create an envelope with the endangered insects series including the one that just came out, the caterpillar - which she's not too fond of, Big Grin. I used Columbia Mills, Cream Toned Folio end sheets for this envelope. Another friend showed me a letter exercise sample sheet done by Annie Cicale that were very graphic and the type of lettering I like doing. I've finally had a chance to use them. I used the flat edge of my HB pencil to do my graduated shading, then went over it with a colored pencil. I then placed the stamps in a pleasing configuration and started extending the leaf images in them or other images in them and coloring them in with my Prisma colored pencils. I also dry embossed the veins in the leaves, usually before coloring but a few were done after some coloring. The rest of the address was done with a black Zig Writer. |
