On Canson Mixed Media paper sprinkled Brush powders (yellow, red & Ost blue). Used a 6.0 Parallel pen for the large word and 3.0 for the smaller letters. Shadowed the large word with a light blue Juice Up pen.

I'm taking a class with Amity Parks and thought I'd practice what I'm learning...

On Canson Mixed Media paper using a Orbis Circle Scissor drew out my large outer circle, then created the wavy line. Painted the interior of the lettering band with Derwent Inktense w/c pencils and a wet paintbrush. Inked the black areas with a Zig Writer.

Inner text with a Juice Up pen.

ID: wk 7 - Embroidery - Love Is The Thread

I used to do a lot of embroidery. crewel, needlepoint and knitting more that 25 years ago... When I moved to Calgary, then I seemed to stop all my textile art forms...

On misc very very heavy cardstock penciled in my words and then embroidered them using variegated thread (pinkish and a reddish) in a beaded long stitch, adding  rosebuds (French Knot) and  the Woven Wheel "O". Text with a red ZIG marker and hearts outlined with a stitch pattern and shaded with a Stabilo pastel pencil and Q-tip.

ID: wk 8 - Lantern - If You Light

On Recollections black cardstock using a gold Signo Unibal gel pen drew the lantern and wrote out the text in a narrow serif monoline style. Colored with Black Edition colored pencils.

words: If you light a  lantern for another, it will also brighten your own way.

 ID: wk 9 - Tolkien - Voices At The Door
Size: 7.5"w x 8.5"h

On Canson Mixed Media paper wrote out the words using a Nikko G nib and Sumi ink in "Blue Rider" typeface. I decided to add a touch of color using Primsa colored pencils.
