I did a similar background on corrugated cardboard for a CBH Challenge greeting card (Origami Tea Bag HB) and liked it so much decided to try to make one that had a flatter surface so I could write on it. I eliminated the tissue paper/gel medium layer and the pumice, but all the other layers are the same. I put a lot more gesso on this one.

I used an empty Parallel pen with Moon Palace Sumi Ink.

If I ever did this again, I would get an even flatter surface and play with the positioning of the words and the quality of the lettering.
