This class was  what I created in the 2nd day (7 hour class minus an hour for lunch.)

ID: Illuminated "J"
Size: 3.5"w x 5.5"h

This will probably become an Xmas card. I made it too large for an ATC... sigh

On Stonehenge paper drew my letter "J" using Blackwing pencils. Painted the background with Gansai Tambi Starry Colors set "Red Gold" (it looks more coppery rather than golden). When dry, tooled the design with a small balled stylus. Drew in my border and dots with a Micron .02 pen. Added the holly and Mistletoe leaves coloring with Prisma colored pencils.

Since the one above was the wrong size, I finally made one the right size... It will end up being a triptych ATC with the word "JOY"

On Arches Text Wove paper, lightly penciled in my letters, Wet the surface and shaved some water soluble graphite. Brand name "Viarco" 2B for "J", 6B for "O" and Lyra water soluble 6B pencil. Then used a Blackwing pencil to add a shadow.

On Strathmore Bristol Smoot paper drew out these distorted letters (by Carmen Nacher). Shaded with the Blackwing pencils. Added the floral and leaf design and colored with Prisma colored pencils. They will be trimmed down and adhered to a colored cardstock as a triptych.

On Arches 90# HP watercolor paper, lightly drew out my letters, wet and shaved Derwent XL Graphite Blocks, combining brush work with the shaving. When dry shadowed with the Blackwing pencils. Added a touch of gold gel pen shadow and a bit of tooling in the hyphen.

It's almost the end of the day, a little tired and didn't want to do something involved... so was playing with the letter"S" and then wrote the rest of the letters.

On a Fabriano 1264 CP140# watercolor paper drew out  the letters, outline with a Micron pen and colored with various Finetec colors. Shadowed with the Blackwing pencils.

Again just playing and wanted to see how graphite looked on black paper. I was surprised... It has a silvery sheen to it.
