Ann Purdy - Pencil To Paper - Day 1

Created: October 17, 2021
Modified:

This class was  what I created in the 1st day (7 hour class minus an hour for lunch.)

ID: Shading and "And"
Size: 8"w x 11"h

On genoa bond paper we drew a bunch of ovals and used our pencils (I used Caran D'Ache) to create shading and to see the difference each pencil gives.

When I was done, I created the "And - we begin again). Shading and pressure release letters.

ID: Pencil Work, Always Be & Enjoy the Journey.
Size: 7.75"w x 9.75"h

On Strathmore Toned Tan Sketch Paper, I used pressure release style lettering using my Caran d'Ache pencils for the top two sentences. And a sketched lettering and Akim lettering for the bottom words

ID: Yogi
Size: 4"w x 3.5"h

On Bee Super Deluxe paper drew out the letters and pencil shaded with the Caran d"Ache pencils and then some yellow Prisma colored pencil in the centers.

(Sorry the coloring of this image is wrong...)

ID: Be Nice
Size: "sq

On HB Premium 32 paper (it's a very smooth heavier weight than regular copy paper)

Again I used my Caran d"Ache pencils (they are my favorites). Did a lot of blending and shading and then decided to add the little bee...

ID: Duh!
Size: 6"w x 3.5"h

On an unknown brand of office paper drew out my letters with Blackwing pencils. (these are new to me)

I started with the "natural", then the "Pearl" and then the "Matte". I really like these pencils. they have the same type of smoothness as my Caran d"ache.
