ATC A Month - Themes Sea Life & Green (August 2007)
"Shells"
I finally tried a
technique described by one of my online friends (Wanda H).
Take a plastic report cover, drop some dots of re-inkers (like Ancient Page or Sea Shells) I also used Opalite, gives a beautiful shimmer, spritz with a touch of water, close covers and smoosh around to blend and move colors, open and place 2 pieces of cardstock - back to back inside, press covers down, open and move cardstock to a new area if not inked sufficiently, remove and let dry. I used 2 combinations of
color: I also love the new Sizzlets alphabet "Wingo Zingo" in one piece. Run through the Zyron, then punch the alphabet through the Cuttlebug. |

I cut out a square of the above technique, mounted on mat board, colored edges with a Krylon gold leaf pen, rubber stamped the nautilus (Faerie Song) with Stampendous Marcasite and then clear embossed it. Put a strip under the square from the same paper. mounted it to a pink cardstock then to an olive toned cardstock. I had some green alcohol ink decorated paper for the letters. |

I rubber stamped the nautilus with Versa Mark on a piece of white Stonehenge cardstock and applied Pearlescent chalks and added a shadow with a graphite pencil. Added Diamond Glaze to the shell area. Colored the border with Lyra Metallic green colored pencil rubbed with a bit of mineral spirits. Mounted it to a piece of mat board and edged with Krylon Gold. Used a strip of the same paper to run under the square and mounted it to a piece of Bazzill salmon toned cardstock then to a bright green cardstock. Added the words with a black micron pen |

Used a Dreamweaver brass stencil on a piece of cardstock through my Cuttlebug. Rubbed a Versa Mark pad over the surface and colored in with the Pearlescent chalks (pink, blue & mauve). Added some moss, and shells and the "S" shell letter. Punched out the rest of the word from the Sizzlet and used a blue Tombow marker for the word "Sea". Mounted it to dark blue cardstock.

For these 3 ATC's, I cut out the squares from a piece of Stonehenge
cardstock, edged it with a black marker, rubber stamped the images (all from
Faerie Song) with gold Brilliance and gold embossing powder, mounted it to a
slightly larger piece of cardstock that had the border colored with a Krylon
Gold pen. Mounted that onto the olive toned green cardstock then onto black
cardstock. The calligraphic words done with a Parallel pen with black ink
and dipped into gold gouache.
