ATC A Month - Themes Free for all or Monochromatic Colors (July 2008)

"Monochromatic"

These ATC's start out with a white piece of 110# cardstock and Pan Pastels applied to the paper in a loose hand kind of movement. Since these are monochromatic backgrounds, each set used colors within that color's range.  I then gently wiped the excess off with a makeup pad (works as well as a Kleenex tissue.). They were not sprayed with fixative.

For the red's I used (Permanent Red & it's tint, a touch of Hansa Yellow and Ultramarine blue to mix with the Permanent red)

I used Evolving Images "Thangs" oval to cut my oval template from some scrap cardstock. I used both the negative and positive pieces. I placed the positive oval onto my Pan Pastel background and rubber stamped the flourishes (Quietfire Design) using Distress Dye ink pad "Fired Brick". I then used the negative portion and an eraser to remove some of the Pan Pastel color and then I went in again with the Permanent Red. Used the "Thangs" oval and a Sakura Gold gel pen to make my oval outline.

I colored some flourish Grungeboard using the Brilliance Dew Drops Rocket Red Gold and embossed it with The Stamper's "Red Foil" embossing powder, went over with the stamp pad again and then with clear UTEE. On the "Perfect Day" ATC I rubber stamped the words "Perfect day" several times under the flourish as well as for the main word using the Fired Brick. The words "Sing" & "Cherish" are from Quietfire Design.

I trimmed the corners with a large corner punch and then mounted them to a dark red cardstock.

For the blue's I used (Ultramarine Blue & it's tint, Lavender Tint, Permanent red Tint)

All three use the "Nature" Quote Marks quotes from Quietfire Design. The flower stamps are; Studio G Clear Stamp set; Stuby Stampers #3718; & Time to Stamp "Flowers & Leaves" sheet. I used Adirondack Rainbow dye stamp pad "Winter Sky" for all stamping on these blues. Added some blue rhinestones or blue glitter in the  flower centers. Rounded the corners with the large corner rounder punch. Mounted them to dark blue cardstock.
