ATC A Month - Themes Food or Color Violet (November 2007)

Linear Art
All these start out with a loose design of a vegetable or other food item. I used Derwent Inktense & Faber Castell watercolor pencils and for some of the backgrounds I used regular watercolors. Most backgrounds, while the paint was wet, I lift it up with a tissue and got this nice shadowy background. When everything was dry, I did linear strokes using either a Hunt 22 or a Nikko G script nib and Moon palace Sumi ink. Added my lettering with the same nibs and ink. I love this style which is not something that is in my usual repertoire, but will be from now on. I also love the play on words i used for several of them. And don't say anything about my "tomatoe" (I like it that way.) |
