MC Dec/14 - Metal Lantern - Life is a Pure Flame - HB Card

size: 5"w x 6"h

Created: December 30, 2014

Someone asked me if I had ever cut thin metal with my Silhouette Cameo... no I hadn't, but took up the challenge, and although it cuts it OK, it also ruined my blade which was only a month old... so needless to say, it's not something I will be repeating.

I'm using quote and sentiment stamps from Quietfire Design . ("Life is a Pure Flame"); ("HB - Let Them Eat Cake" 4pce set) & ("Friends" 4 pce set)

I side folded my white card. Die cut the border (Spellbinders "Antique Frame & Accents") from white cardstock, applied Versamark and embossed with Pearlescent embossing powder. Adhered to right edge.

Cut a piece of natural colored cork (DCWV "Cork Solid" 12 x 12 Stack) and adhered to card front. Stamped the quote using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.

Adhered a piece of beige real lace, a piece of salmon dyed ribbon (won from Little Scrap Pieces"), and a piece of corrugated yellow cardstock.

eCut the lantern from gold colored thin metal sheet, ran through my embossing machine with Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots", applied Distress Black Soot Dauber all over, allowed to partially dry, then wiped off the excess.

Die cut the candle (eCraft Designs), colored with Prisma colored pencils and the added glitter (Stickles dry glitter "Diamond") to the candle.

Designed some oval loops, eCut, painted with the black dauber and adhered them together to create my chain.

As a final touch added the rhinestone squares in the corner.

On the inside die cut more candles, colored or did some doodling, applied Quickie Glue and various colors of Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter and adhered to inside of card.

Stamped the sentiments with the black and clear embossed.
