ID: MC Aug/14 - Quill - Hum of Bees - HB  card
size: 5"w x 87h

Created: August 10, 2014

Last year I designed and made some jumbo quilling gadgets (see pic below) to make ferny type leaves... recently some of my quilling friends were interested in the gadget, so I thought I'd do something with it... So besides the ferny leaves, the petals of the flower were also created with the gadget. The fill area is called Bee Hive coil.

I'm using quote on the front and a few sentiments on the inside from Quietfire Design

(Garden Delights - Hum of Bees); (Love Lives Here); (Happy Birthday)

I cut a piece of white cardstock the size of my embossing folder (Crafts Too 'Bamboo"), inked up one side with Distress "Tumbled Glass", then ran it through my machine. Hit the high points with a Distress pad Shabby Shutters". Adhered to a dark blue cardstock then to a bright red cardstock, then on to my white side folded card.

Stamped the quote using Versafine Black Onyx on white cardstock, trimmed close, hit the edges with the blue pad and adhered to card.

Adhered my quilled elements. Tied a large bow using a yellow gauze ribbon with bees printed on it.

Die cut the bees (eCraft Designs) from white cardstock and colored with markers. Glittered the wings with Stickles "Star Dust" glitter.

On the inside, stamped the bird cage and bird (Kaiser Crafts "Hummingbird" set) using the black. Applied quickie glue pen to the body of the largest bird and sprinkled with Stickles "Yellow" glitter. Then sprinkled the wings with Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter "Royal Blue".

Stamped the sentiments inking with Distress "Barn Door" then hitting here and there with "Black Soot". Sponged around the edges with a dirty blue sponge.
