A mish mash of letters done with watercolors, damp paper towel swiped over it, dried, then lettered with a mix of Copic white opaque ink mixed with water and a pointed pen. Shadowed with a 4B pencil and paper stump.

Brush Lettering Romans

Created: May 7, 2017

I recently took a class with Paul Ehrrera "Brush Lettering Romans"- loved it.

An exemplar I was finally pleased with... watercolors double dipped (yellow then red) using a 1/4" brush.

Playing - a progression of letter placement. watercolors as mentioned above. I like the one with the tick mark...

After making the mish mash lettering piece above I wanted to make a larger one... This one is done on Arches 90# watercolor paper and watercolor, 1/4" brush, and is  approx 8"w x 7"h.

Below is the washed out effect. I still have to write a quote on it... One day
