Tim Holtz - Creative Chemistry 101 class - Day 6 - Distress Markers

Created: June 6, 2016
Modified:

I have all the Distress Markers and use them mainly for touching up here or there, rarely for coloring. I prefer using my watercolors. These samples are from Day 6.

I used 90# watercolor paper for both tags. Don't have any of the "specialty" cardstock from Ranger...

I stamped the daffodil like flowers (Flourishes "Orchids") using Versafine Black Onyx, then colored with the markers both on dry and wet paper (upper flower dry, lower flower wet), moving the color around with a wet brush.

Stamped the "Ladybug" (Paper Mania Urban Stamps "Ladybirds"), painting the stamp with the markers and stamping.

Since I still have my Archival pads on my desk, used the "Aquamarine" pad and a "Crackle" stamp (newest from Quietfire Design), rolling the stamp to do a more organic type stamping.

Sponged all around lightly with a dirty blue sponge and then the edges with "Gathered Twigs".

Stamped the quote (newest from Quietfire Design "How Lovely is the Silence...") using the black and clear embossed.

Die cut the A Way With Words  "Spring" from Elizabeth Craft Designs "4 Seasons" 4 pce set (also available on Quietfire Design HERE). Hit it direct to paper with "Twisted Citron" and then streaking with "Mowed Lawn" and clear embossing.

Final touch, added a piece of Sari ribbon

Inked the stamp (Penny Black "The Sweetest Sound") using the markers, misted with water and stamped.

Stamped the small affirmation words (Quietfire Design "Jewelry Words") using another Archival pad on my desk... "Venetian Orange".

Sponged all around using "Salty Ocean", "Faded Jeans", "Chipped Sapphire" and then here and there with "Seedless Preserves". Splattered with water and dried. Got very similar white spots...

Stamped the sentiment "You are my Sunshine" (Quietfire Design "Always Be My Friend" 3 pce set) using the black and clear embossed.

Die cut the A Way With Words  "Hello" from Elizabeth Craft Designs (also available on Quietfire Design HERE).

Final touch tied some Sari ribbon.
