INSTRUCTIONS:

Stamp the flourish hearts on a piece of white cardstock with the Perfect Medium pad and clear emboss. Work direct to paper with the Distress pads, starting with Fired Brick, then with Worn Lipstick, mist with water and dry. On the reverse side, again direct to paper with Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold and some Mustard Seed, mist and dry. Place between some clean unprinted newsprint and iron off the clear embossing. Repeat till all embossing is removed.

Punch out and or die cut various sized hearts. For the more bulbous hearts you will need about 5 or 6 per flower. For the long and skinny type hearts you will need about 8. Fold each heart in half. Make enough folded heart petals for one flower with the embossed hearts facing out and some flowers with the orange color facing out for added variety. All these petals were done with 1 piece of 8.5 x 11' cardstock with some left over.

Trim down a white piece of cardstock to leave a small border on your 5 x 7" card. You can dry emboss the white background with your embossing folder now, or selectively emboss areas after the flowers are assembled using a hard rubber mallet on the edge of a table supported by a leg - this is the method I used.

Put some glue on one half of a petal and place on white cardstock. Continue gluing and placing the rest to create a flower. Work from large petal flowers to small petal flowers, placing the smaller ones overlapping on a larger petal. Also place some on the edge in a half flower arrangement. Note: all petals open and adhered in the same direction. See card for placement ideas.

Stamp your quote on the orange side of the decorated cardstock with the black stamp pad. Die cut using appropriate heart die and adhere to card.

Adhere the white cardstock to the main red card.

As a finishing touch add half pearls or heart rhinestones etc. and while holding the pearl firmly in place, just gently twist and shape your petal so it stands up a bit. Note the heart rhinestone was adhered with a double layer of 3D foam on a die cut small heart.
