I signed up for Texas Lettering Arts Holiday Projects 3 day classes. So far really good... This one was taught by Veronica Phillips. This time I wanted to do one a lot shorter and include a real spine... I used Columbia Mills end paper cut down to 14"w x 8"h. I geli printed both sides using Distress pads over 2 geli plates stuck together. Folded at 4", 1/4" spine, then at the 10.5" point and another 1'4" spine laving the last pocket at 3.5". Turned paper 90º and scored at 2" and 5.5" leaving a piece of 2.5" to create the pocket. Punched out a round cut out for each pocket. Rounded the corners of the flaps. Stitched in a 5 folio plus cover signature with a pamphlet stitch, 4 ply waxed linen thread and added hand made paper beads coated with Glossy Accents beads to the thread ends. Punched a large eyelet hole with my Crop-A-Dial and inserted a large toned eyelet. Tied a really long length of Sari ribbon through the eyelet and added another paper bead. Created the labels with a 2.4 parallel pen and Sumi ink in Wouters' style lettering. Rounded the corners and added some floral brads, including floral brads to the inside pocket flaps. |
