I signed up for Texas Lettering Arts Holiday Projects 3 day classes. So far really good...
This one was taught by Veronica Phillips. She used 12"sq double sided paper. I used 14 x 12" Columbia Mills end paper. I geli printed both sides using a bunch of colors of gouache over 2 geli plates stuck together. Was a bit short so added extra parge calligraphy lettering "Bold & Beautiful" on one side and "Stripes Galore... Yes" on the other side. ( of course that ended up being upside down... live and learn...
Folded at 4.5" & 10" giving me an end piece of 4". Turned paper 90º and scored at 4" & 9" giving me a flap of 3".
Punched out a round cut out for each pocket then adhere with 1/4" double sided tape. Rounded the corners of the flaps.
Stitched in a 2page plus pocket signature with a pamphlet stitch, 4 ply waxed linen thread and added hand made paper beads to the thread ends.
Punched a large eyelet hole with my Crop-A-Dial and inserted a large copper toned eyelet. Tied a really long length of Sari ribbon through the eyelet and added a heavy starfish charm to the end.
