I signed up for Texas Lettering Arts Holiday Projects 3 day classes. So far really good...
This one was taught by Veronica Phillips. Since I was showing my friend how to make one I used the same sizes Veronica used... which was 12 x 12". I used Columbia Mills end paper. I geli printed both sides using a bunch of colors of gouache over 2 geli plates stuck together.
Folded at 4" & 9" giving me an end piece of 3". Turned paper 90º and scored the same dimensions.
Punched out a round cut out for each pocket. Rounded the corners of the flaps.
Stitched in a 3 page plus pocket page signature with a pamphlet stitch, 4 ply waxed linen thread and added hand made Fimo beads (which I discovered in my stash...) to the thread ends.
Punched a large eyelet hole with my Crop-A-Dial and inserted a large copper toned eyelet. Tied a really long length of Sari ribbon through the eyelet and added another Fimo bead.
