"Blue Distress"


Journal  (closed): approx 4.25"w x 4"h x .75" thk.

I found the instructions for this enclosed journal in a book by Diane Maurer Mathison called "Paste Paper".

I used a mat board for the covers and hinge area. Covered the covers with a hand decorated Mayfair cardstock that I scrunched up and swiped with distress stamp pads (weathered wood, tattered rose & black soot). I don't recommend using this type of paper for this technique, it does not take well to the abuse of scrunching.

I used a blue moiré book cloth for the spine section and a blue silk ribbon to bind the journal. 

The signatures are made from Fraser Papers Magna Carta Parchment 24lb in Gold (hard to find now)

15 single page signatures with an additional thickness piece inserted in the binding for each signature.
