Journal  (closed): approx 3.5"w x 5.5"h x 1.25" thk.

This is the third Raven's foot binding. This time I made the top and bottom coil twice as thick (still not thick enough for me though) and added a lot of beautiful glass beads as well as a few other types of beads. It's again one of the instructions from the Mary Kaye Seckler book called "Book Arts - Beautiful Bindings for Handmade Books".

I used mat board for the covers and covered them with some marbled paper I made recently, done on Hosho rice paper. Red and Blues, another nice and lively paper. I used two shades of blue eyelets. The inside of the covers are covered with the same marbled paper. I used red and blue  cardstock for signature covers. The binding is done with 4 ply waxed linen thread - for the core/feet in Turquoise (which really blended in with one of the blues) and 4 ply unwaxed thread (which I waxed) in a warm red for the binding

I used 9 signatures of 6 pages each plus the cardstock covers for each signature cut from Grumbacher's Pentalic Paper for Pens. 

I punched a couple holes and added dark blue eyelets and threaded dark blue ribbon (glued to the inside cover) for closures .
