Our challenge for our May10th meeting is to try the next structure in the book - One Sheet Folds #25 Star Fold from Hedi Kyle's "Art Of The Fold" book.
This structure is not something that does anything for me...
I created this one first, from calligraphy paper but I felt it was too flimsy.
I sprayed Distress Oxides on one side and liked the way it filtered through the paper to give a mottled effect... of course you can't see that because I glued the star closed...
I also realized that the cut outs should be thin at the bottom where the fold is otherwise they interfere with the star sides.
Next one I made works better...
