WC for Cards - Day 5 - Easel Lilies
- HB card
Created: May 10, 2014 This is the 5th day of the online watercolor for cards class. Today's tutorials are definitely a little more involved... but if you have the time... they give great impact. I'm using some new and some older stamps this time from Quietfire Design. Watercoloring & stamped image technique with Swarup Murthy (Sanketi)

I stamped the lilies (Michael Strong) on Arches HP 90# watercolor paper using Versafine "Smokey Grey". I also created a mask to stamp the other lilies. I painted them with artist quality watercolors (mainly Winsor & Newton). Stamped the words "Garden Delights" using Versafine Black Onyx and a stamp positioner, stamping one word section at a time. Die cut my design using Spellbinders Grand ovals set, then used the outside edge to cut my under layer from white cardstock. Adhered the two together. Used the same die and hand cut my easel structure, then adhered my design element. Repeatedly stamped the background lilies (Michael Strong) using Distress pads on the floor. Used a wet brush to move some of the colors around. Stamped the Garden Delights on white cardstock with the black and clear embossed, then die cut with Spellbinders oval set. Stamped the newest "Happy Birthday" with the black and clear embossed. Adhered to floor with 3D foam tape to act as my stopper. I still had a bunch of these glittered butterflies I made a while back so adhered them to the front and floor of the card as well. |
