Thinking of You
Created: September 6, 2009
This card fits the category of Stitching which is this week's theme over on
Created By Hand. I love the look of these punched out flowers. I've seen it in a couple books, where you use various punches (not necessarily floral) and then create flowers from them. Done a couple of them and really like them, which is why when I saw this type in "The New Concepts in Paper Quilling" by Marie Browning, I had to make one, and ended up making a few, with more punched out flowers ready to make a few more. So I colored some gold parchment paper with Pan Pastels in Ultramarine Blue & Magenta, getting nice shades, and then punched out literally hundreds of them while watching TV. I then used some fun foam and a large stylus to give them the 3D look and feel. Placed them on my heavily textured off white mulberry type paper, until I was pleased with the layout. Used some 1/8" quilling strips for the stems and adhered everything down. Added a punched out leaf. |
Used the same paper for the bottom strip where I adhered one of my calligraphic Peel Offs. Added French Knots in each corner, then adhered everything to my bright green card. NOTE: These are some of my calligraphic word sentiment Peel Offs on the "Elizabeth Craft Design" labels. There are 12 styles available at the moment. They come in four different colors (gold, silver, black, and white); "Thank You", "It's a Boy, It's a Girl", "You're Invited" Congratulations" "Happy Birthday & "Love", "Friends", "Thinking of You", "Xmas Seasonal", "Xmas" & Happy Anniversary". There are a few more coming out some time in 2009 or early 2010. |
