ID: PeelOffs - Friends
5"w x 7"h

Created May 7, 2007

I started with a value pack cardstock aqua color from the "Seaside" set. I cut an extra piece to back the cover and encase the vellum oval. I used a Coluzzle Narrow Circle template to cut out the center oval of both pieces of cardstock at the same time. Cut a piece of printed vellum (Art Impressions - Susan Branch "Pansy" #13308) one size larger than the cardstock oval. Stuck a gold Peel Offs Butterfly  onto it and colored the spaces with 3D fabric paint (Paper Effects "Amethyst Pearl", Plaid "Raspberry Sparkle" & Gold Glitter"). Sandwiched and glued the two pieces of cardstock with an ATG tape , and rounded two of the corners with a corner punch. Added the bunch of butterflies from the same set and colored the spaces with Sakura Soufflé gel pens (blue, pink, purple, green & white) . Added the little flowers around the oval and dotted the centers and 2 dots with gold Stickles. Rubber stamped the word "Friends" (Quietfire Design "Italic" alphabet set) and Versa mark Dew Drops "Ocean Depth" . Shadow outline the letters with a gold gel pen . Rubber stamped the word forever (Quietfire Design "A word lovingly"), inking only the single word with the "Ocean Depth" stamp pad.

For the inside, I used the negative portions of the butterfly group left over from another card which had the  alcohol treatment. I will put the sentiment inside when I'm ready to send it to someone.

Tip: The Peel Offs "Magic Tape" is indispensable for picking up negative portions of the images. It's also re-usable.

BUT... in a pinch I tried regular Scotch Brand "Removable Magic Tape" & regular "Magic tape" layering one piece slightly on top of another until I had a large enough piece to cover the image I wanted to pick up. I cut the image away from the main sheet, put my tape on top of it and pressed down. It doesn't really stick to the tape. It's only as you're removing the backing and lifting the corners of the image with an x-acto blade that it starts to stick. It takes a bit of dexterity and patience. When you've lifted the whole image, transfer it to your card. Careful it really sticks. Both tapes have their limitations, the removable tape doesn't hold the pieces as firmly, but won't stick to your substrate, whereas the regular tape holds the little pieces firmly  but may stick to your substrate too much. You choose...

Note: if you're not able to lift all the small pieces at one time with the Peel Offs Magic Tape, don't sweat it, just pick up what you can, place it where you want and go back and pick up the rest.
