I started this card from a large piece of artwork done with large calligraphic words and using walnut ink, when dry I swished over the words with a wet brush. When that was dry I wrote small words using gold leaf adhesive, then applied the variegated red & gold leaf. I cut the artwork into small strips and interwove and glued them to a textured off white thick mulberry type paper. I glued that down onto a dark brown cardstock. I used my thermal embossing technique for the words "Happy Birthday" with gold embossing powder.
