ID: QF Anniversary #7 Postcard
6.25"w x 4.25"h

It's Quietfire Design  (newsletter's 7th anniversary). I made her the bunny card, but there's a postcard challenge to win $40.00 of art supplies. And your name gets entered twice if you use QF products.

I'm a little  under the weather having a cold, sniffles , congestion and just feeling ecky, so I might just ramble a bit. Sorry. Suzanne just posted a background technique that she did for a background swap we're all in. It sounded and look so yummy, that I wanted to try it. Well, because I'm feeling under the weather, I had to try a few times before I got anything I liked. I feel like I'm pushing a heavy object up a steep hill. My art just isn't flowing the way it usually does. But with perseverance I finally came up with this week's challenge and am content.

The background technique starts out with CP 140 lb watercolor paper (I used Fabriano Artistico). Very concentrated walnut ink made from walnut ink crystals, Distress embossing powders. Also Schminke Tro-Col Gouache, Copper - well you see I'm just not all there, I even can't read right because I didn't use gouache, I used gold and copper powders. OK, wet your paper with water, then brush on the walnut ink, while wet, sprinkle on the Distress EP, and the Schminke Tro-Col, then heat set a small area at a time.

I stenciled seven of the crows from a Dreamweaver Stencil #LL471 using Dreamweaver paste and mixing it with black acrylic paint (from a  tube) and Pearl Ex "Macro Pearl" powder. Cut it to size and mounted it to a heavy black cardstock. Wrote the words "Seven crows a cawing" with a Sakura Gold "Pink" gel pen. The "Happy Anniversary" is one of my calligraphic Peel Offs that will be released in Mid May/08. Added a gold border using Peel Offs as well.

NOTE: The  Peel Off is a release that will be available in mid May/08. It is one of my calligraphic word sentiments on the "Elizabeth Craft Design" labels. There are 6 styles available at the moment with another 5 to be available mid May. They come in four different colors (gold, silver, black, and white); "Thank You", "It's a Boy/It's a Girl", "You're Invited" Congratulations" "Happy Birthday & "Love". The five for May are; "Friends", "Thinking of You", "Xmas Seasonal", "Xmas" & Happy Anniversary"
