A thank you card for a dear friend.

I went to a demo yesterday and there was a technique using alcohol inks I had not seen before. Simple and you would think I would have thought about it, but I didn't. I have always "pounced" my alcohol tool to get a mottled design, which I really love, but this time it was used to "streak" the paper. A totally different look using the same inks (Adirondack; Lettuce, Stream & Butterscotch and Blending Fluid). Amazing.

I started with a pearlized cocoa linen weave paper I recently bought. It's a beautiful 80# text weight and I thought if we can do these inks on glossy paper why not on this pearlized paper. I really loved the results and the pearlized aspect of the paper still shows through. I then rubber stamped the fern leaf (Evolving Images "Southern Woodlands" set, image #1777-I) using Color Box Petal Point Pheasant Gold and clear embossing powder. Mounted it to a piece of dark green (Ivy) Bazzill Monochromatic cardstock.

The mottled background uses the same alcohol inks as the streaky one. Then this was mounted to a piece of celery toned 80# linen cardstock (my pic looks a little on the brownish side, whereas the  actual is more of a yellowish green). The "thanks" section is the mottled background on the ivy cardstock and uses my calligraphic peel offs.

NOTE: These and other Peel Offs are my calligraphic word sentiments on the "Elizabeth Craft Design" labels. There are 6 styles available at the moment with another 5 to be available mid May/08. They come in four different colors (gold, silver, black, and white); "Thank You", "It's a Boy, It's a Girl", "You're Invited" Congratulations" "Happy Birthday & "Love". The five for May are; "Friends", "Thinking of You", "Xmas Seasonal", "Xmas" & Happy Anniversary"
