I bought the poinsettia Triad watercolors from Daniel Smith a while back and they've been sitting in a box on my desk... I finally pulled them out. It came with a line drawing which I scanned and enlarged, transferred the image to 90# watercolor paper, then painted (Pyrrol Red, Serpentine Genuine, & Mayon Yellow).

When dry, sponged Vintage Photo around the edges. Wrote in my word with a Nikko G nib and Sumi ink, exaggerating the weight of the thicks. Added a pencil stroke and blended with a stump to add shadow, then touched them with a White Remisce gel pen. Also added little dots at each corner with the bullet tip of the Zig Writer - adding shadow and highlight. Layered this onto a cream card. Added some Distress Stickles Antique Linen with my finger, just to give it a bit of pizzazz. Added some yellow Liquid Pearls for the flower heads.
