Another year has gone by and it's the 9th anniversary of the By Hand Newsletter (1st week of April). I've wanted to do a quilled flourish for a while and I thought what better flourish than one of Suzanne's. So I rubber stamped it onto white cardsock with Versafine Toffee. Sponged around the edges with Distress Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Chipped Sapphire. then misting and sprinkling with water, then drying it. Rubber stamped the words Flourish & Grow with the same stamp pad and clear embossed it. Also rubber stamped part of the quote "Love where you're at..." by Joanne Ross with Majestic Blue.

All stamps are by (Quietfire Design)

I started adhering my quill paper strips (1/4" bronze metallic and a medium blue) using PVA white glue, following the lines of the flourish and building up thickness with the blue. Added white half pearls in various sizes (9 of them).

Punched out some daisy shaped florets from  dark blue cardstock and decorated metallic blue paper, adding a faux amber colored rhinestone.

Created a border with strips of the bronze metallic quill paper.

Die cut the dark blue flourish corners which act like hinges and work themselves to the inside of the card. They're die cut from Spellbinders "Doodle Parts" set.

Part of the words I put on the inside are "Know that you're a Pearl of the first water and much appreciated"

and the envelope!!

Sponged Distress colors through the Magenta blossom stencil I just got, then around the edges. Blackletter for Suzanne's name done with 6.0 Parallel pen with black cartridge ink and then colored with Prisma Colors (912 & 919) (ps - no comments from the peanut gallery - re my lettering, needs some work still. Got to get my letters more vertical and a bit better spaced - practice, practice)
