Well Mylar's been around for ages, but it was only this weekend that I came across some specifically for the arts & craft industry called Shimmer Sheetz. So I picked up a few sheets. There was a demo showing some of the possibilities. I was intrigued.

Note: the Mylar made this card, another card with the reverse pattern glittered, and a 3rd card with the actual piece of Shimmer Sheetz. The other two cards will be shown after a challenge and a magazine submission have passed.

This tape technique doesn't work on the plain silver or gold Shimmer Sheetz. But there are wonderful things to do with them.

I ran the Shimmer Sheetz (blue) through the Cuttlebug with the Asian Bundle "Plum Blossom" folder. Then put Sookwang tape over the whole piece (use the sheet tape), pressed it to a piece of white cardstock, then lifted the Shimmer Sheetz at the corner and started separating the iridescent layer from the Shimmer Sheetz. The portions of the flowers that are a deeper blue is where the tape didn't remove the Shimmer Sheetz but left the adhesive behind. I then sprinkled Ritz micro fine glitter "Royal Blue" and burnished well. Trimmed my cardstock down, rounded the corners and adhered it to my main card (C'Ordinations pink/deep pink) and sanded lightly.

Rubber stamped the Dogwood (Pet Aluma "Dogwood Botanical" #K-1228) with Versafine black on white cardstock and clear embossed it then lightly colored it with colored pencils (some pink and white and green on the leaves). Cut it out and adhered it to the card with pop dots.

Added the silk lacy edged ribbon, tied a knot. Rubber stamped the words "Thank You" (Quietfire Design) onto white sanded Shrink Plastic with Versafine black, baked it and adhered it to my ribbon with very fine silver wire and some Glossy Accents.
