So Tim has a contest going till May 28th. Create something with Distress stamp pads, send him an image with description, and you'd be entered to win one of 12 Distress stamp pad metal storage tins (holds 24 pads) that are not sold anymore. Pretty good deal.

Well I made this Shimmer Sheetz dragonfly using Tim's Fanciful Flight die with a beaded body, put it aside not knowing what to do with it until today.

I sponged some Distress on a piece of white cardstock (Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky), just to give it a touch of color. Then used the clock & gears mask, sponging more colors (Broken China, Worn Lipstick), then misted with water and dried. Trimmed it down and mounted to a coppery toned Bazzill Monochrome cardstock, then mounted this, edge to edge, to a cream main card.

I die cut two pairs of large wings, one from gold Shimmer Sheetz (available thru Elizabeth Craft Designs), and one from the light pink Sheetz.

I ran the pink ones  through the Cuttlebug with the Asian Bundle "Plum Blossom" folder. Put Sookwang tape over the whole piece, trimmed it then brayered it to the gold wing, then lifted the Sheetz at the corner and started separating the iridescent layer from the Shimmer Sheetz. The portions of the flowers that are a deeper tone is where the tape didn't remove the Shimmer Sheetz but left the adhesive behind. I then sprinkled Ritz micro fine glitter "Warm Highlights" and burnished well. With both the iridescent layer and the glitter layer, there is still a gold nuance coming through.

Made the body bead from metallic bronze paper, then threaded some gold wire through it, adding metallic beads for the tail and a couple beads for the eyes, and continuing with the wire to create the antennae.

I die cut a bunch of gears using Tim's Gadget Gears die set. One set was die cut from black Shrink Plastic, and the other from Natural colored Chipboard. I smeared Distress pads to the chipboard gears, Walnut Stain & Black Soot DTP, then clear embossed.

Rubber stamped the quote "Follow your dreams till they take wing and fly" (Quietfire Design) with Staz On Cotton White on black Shrink Plastic. Used the large gear as a template and hand cut the gear.

Adhered all the elements to the main card either with PVA glue or Glossy Accents.
