I've been watching some video clips on YouTube done by Two Peas in a Bucket that have been inspiring. This card is a direct result of my play day with some of those techniques with my own twists added in.

I started with a piece of white 110# cardstock and rubber stamped the script with Versafine Imperial Purple (it extended past my butterfly but the rest was covered up with the paint). Used an Evolving Images stencil/mask for the butterfly. Used the stencil portion first and with some Distress stamp pads and a sponging tool applied some Marigold and Broken China just to give it a bit of color. Only have 3 paint daubers so had to make do with acrylic paint instead. I used Ceramcoat (my favorite and I think best quality of acrylic craft paints), Maple Sugar, Mexicana & Bittersweet. Used the mask portion and applied dots of colors in the lower portion and with a "Cut & Stamp" foam piece, pounced my colors around, blending and merging the colors, applying more color where needed. When everything was dry, rubber stamped the Queen Anne's lace with leaves sprig and embossed part of it with white embossing powder. Trimmed the cardstock for neatness and with a sponging tool & Walnut Stain Distress pad darkened around the edges.

Removed my butterfly mask. Placed my artwork onto the dark brown cardstock and rubber stamped the Queen Anne's Lace sprig embossing with white again. (I did this before adhering my artwork to the cream cardstock so my edges wouldn't be so thick). After stamping, I adhered the artwork to the cream cardstock, and trimming it to a slivered border, then adhered it to the dark brown matching the previous stamped image. Rubber stamped the "Thinking of You" (Quietfire Design) with Versafine Vintage Sepia and clear embossing it. Adhered all this to a cream toned card.
