This card is in the July 2010 issue of  Vamp Stamp Magazine  with the theme of "Background Techniques".

I love doing Distress with water backgrounds. They're fast and easy and so serendipitous.

I started by sponging a piece of white cardstock with Distress Faded Jeans, Shabby Shutters & Peeled Paint. Then spraying with water and adding droplets of water, drying with a hair dryer.

Folded my main dark blue card. Cut a piece of the background smaller than my card front to give me a 1/4 border all around. Set this aside.

Die cut my center piece with a Spellbinder's Label's Eight die. Scanned it and manipulated it to create shadow pieces which I cut with my Cricut in a dark blue and a copper metallic. Rubber stamped the flowers (Auntie Amy's 191J)  with Versafine Black Onyx. Colored the flowers with Prisma Colors, starting with a layer of white, then coloring in and ending with a Lyra Splender Blender. Added some Stickles in the centers (copper and yellow). Mounted these die cut layers to my main card adding the narrower orange gauze ribbon behind my first die cut layer. Put two pieces of orange gauze ribbon (1" & a 3/8" wide ) together and tied a bow which I adhered separately to my card.

Sanded a piece of translucent Shrink Plastic, die cut it with an Ovals Spellbinder's die, rubber stamped my quote (The most I Can do... Quietfire Design) with the black, Punched a 1/8" hole, then shrunk it in the oven. Attached it to the ribbon with a gold jump ring.
