This is my submission for the Vamp Stamp Magazine for the April 2010 issue with the theme of "Ribbons".

I scored & bone folded a piece of cream cardstock in half, drew a scalloped rounded shape on it then cut it out, both portions together (this is the  hinge for the front and inside of the card). Punched large holes on the front portion only to fit the copper eyelets (I think 3/16) I was using for the thickness of ribbons. Inserted the ribbons into the holes, then rubber stamped the letters to spell "Birthday" (various stamp alphabets) using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossing them. Used my Cricut to cut out the word "Happy" using Cooper Black font and the weld feature, from some cream cardstock painted with Twinkles H2o's (golden pinky tones). Then outlined each letter with a Quickie Glue pen and sprinkled Rtiz micro fine glitter Regal Red. Adhered it to the scalloped section. Set this aside.

I ran another piece of cream cardstock slightly smaller (4.75 x 6.75") than my main card through my Cuttlebug with the Happy Birthday #37-1133 embossing folder. Ran another piece using the Birthday Wishes #37-1162 embossing folder, brayered the high points with Kaleidacolor "Desert Heat" then clear embossing it. Cut out around the open sections of the candles, leaving the bottom portion intact. Used a Quickie glue pen and Ritz Micro Fine glitter Dark Gold and some Regal Red for the flames. Adhered it to the birthday section cutting off part of the bottom since it was taller than I wanted for the card.

I adhered the back of the front scalloped piece to the front of the Happy Birthday embossed piece. And the back of the back portion of the scalloped piece to the front of the red cardstock, centering it. So now you have the hinged portion attached to both parts of the card.

On the inside scallop piece I rubber stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) with Versafine Satin Red and clear embossed it. I had a couple candles left over from my front piece which I adhered to the inside. I rubber stamped the ribbon (Perfectly Clear Stamps "Ribbon Bow Border" #SSC058) with the same Kaleidacolor stamp pad and clear embossed it, then outlined it with a gold gel pen, and added a gold Peel Offs dot.
