This is one of my submissions for the Vamp Stamp Magazine for the October issue with the theme of "Corners".

I have lots of ideas for corners. There's an upcoming challenge of backgrounds on a Yahoo Group I belong to, so I was looking through my idea journals and came across a brayered background on white tissue paper using black gesso, then brayering with acrylic paints that I had tried a long time ago... Time to resurrect it.

So I brayered Ross Jones black gesso onto the white tissue paper, several layers of gesso, drying between layers. I only did the front, but the back can also be gessoed for added strength. When dry, I brayered Folk Arts Metallic acrylic paints (Rose Shimmer, Metallic Amethyst, Metallic Inca Gold). The brayering/gesso crinkles the paper adding texture.

I tore the paper and adhered it to a Bazzill monochromatic pink cardstock. Then onto a metallic linear textured cardstock (American Crafts Foil pack #71218) then onto the main black card.

I punched out flowers and leaves using a McGill Petite Petals, Carl Craft small Sakura, Marvy small Daisy, EK Success Fern Frond & Punch Bunch Rose Leaf, from various scraps of decorated paper I had laying around from previous projects, some alcohol technique, some spattered watercolor backgrounds, some rubber stamped and gold embossed. Assembled them and arranged them in a pleasing manner. added faux rhinestones & half pearls in varying sizes. Rubber stamped the quote (Quietfire Design "May each treasured memory") with Versafine Black Onyx
