Rubber Stamp Chat  is having a sketch challenge sponsored by Stamp Fransisco. The sketch was a little more layers than I usually do, but what the heck.

So I started by using my Cricut to cut out the main butterfly from some white cardstock. Put a layer of double sided tape on the back so I could glitter the outline details from the front. Adhered it to another piece of cardstock. Sprinkled with Ritz Glitter micro fine glitter Purple. Then colored the  white cardstock spaces with Sakura Metallic gel pens in a pretty blue and moved it around with my water brush. Sponged color on the surrounding cardstock with Distress Broken China & Fired Brick. Mounted that to a deep purple cardstock. Rubber stamped the word Papillion (Quietfire Design) with Distress Dusty Concord and clear embossed. Added some tentacles to the butterfly.

The other butterfly was also cut with the Cricut. It's a small version and I cut it out twice. Colored it with Dusty Concord and embossed with Kaleidoscope embossing powder.  Then sandwiched a piece of double sided tape, putting Cool Highlights on both sides.

So the layers are a deep purple for the main card, a layer of white heart embossed cardstock that I rubbed a Perfect Medium stamp pad all over and embossed with the Kaleidocolor. Then the upper heavy textured mulberry paper that I ran a Distress Broken China pad over the high points. Then the main butterfly piece, with the scalloped border. This was punched from some scrap decorated paper I had made from acrylic paints. I used the Martha Stewart Scallop Dot border punch. The heart the smaller butterfly sits on is from the same decorated paper and die cut with a Sizzix Tipsy Heart die. I added some stamen to that butterfly. I rubber stamped the "Just For you" (Kolette Hall value stamps from Michael's) with the purple and clear embossed and colored the flower with gel pens.
