ID: S&S - Straw Art - Rectangle Happy
Birthday
Created: May 31, 2009 A note: this card made it's way into Just Cards issue #16 released January 2010, Happy Birthday category
Not sure if I got this mailed in in time for the theme of "Happy Birthday" at Scrap & Stamp magazine but hopefully it will be good for some theme. And I said this before, the only thing I don't like is having to send in my actual card. They don't accept digital images. It takes a lot of time to make one of these, plus the cost of materials, mailing back and forth etc etc, plus I can't give it as a gift to anyone until - keep my fingers crossed - I get it back, so if I don't get it back, I'm not a happy camper. I did my straw art on glossy white cardstock using black Sumi ink dropped blobs on the paper and blew through a straw to disperse the ink. The patterns it created were just great. I had also gotten some copic markers recently and decided to color in spaces using them. I then cut out the rectangular shapes, mounted them to a bright yellow cardstock, trimmed with a nice sized border, then mounted to my green main card. Rubber stamped the "Happy Birthday" (Quietfire Design) using Versafine stamp pad. Mounted it to a slightly different green cardstock then onto the rest of the card. |
