ID: Oct/19 - Side Deco Bkgrd - It I Could Give You Any Gift - Write It On Your Heart" card
size: 5"w x 7"H

Created: October 13, 2019
Modified:

I finally got around to playing with my Deco Art Media paints (available from (Kensington Art Supplies) making a similar background that I made for the Phone Stand taught by Tracie Moreau at "The Paper And Ink Boutique" last month... I made 2 cards with the background and this is the second one.

On Canson CP watercolor paper (smoother side) (6"w x 9"h) painted with Distress Paint "Black Soot" all over, let dry.

Streaked with Ceramcoat "Antique White" acrylic paint, leaving glimpses of black background.

Stamped with some text stamps and design element circle stamps using Versafine Clair "Nocturne". Let dry.

Stenciled with Tim's Flourish stencil and a multi circle stencil using the white paint sparingly to get ghost like images.

Painted with the Deco Art Paints (they're very translucent but vibrant colors. (Cobalt Teal Hue; Primary Yellow; Dioxazine Purple; Vermilion; Yellow Green Light) overlapping colors.

I added some more flourish stenciling.

Cutout a rectangle in the area where it would leave a rectangle frame. With the leftovers I cut a thinner border for the rectangle, splicing on 2 corners.

Scored and folded my white cardstock to create my side fold structure

Wrote out the sentiment using a flat edge pen and a Zig Writer in my upright Italic style and funky script. Scanned, resized and printed out on white cardstock. Colored some of the letters. Sponged around the edges and adhered to card front. Adhered my Deco Art frame.

Added leaves, flowers and the butterfly from my stash. Added nail art rhinestones with Gem-tac.

On the inside:

Again my own calligraphy with a Zig Writer both the fine tip and bullet tip in an Art Deco style lettering. Scanned, printed on white cardstock, cut into an oval with a stitched oval die set, sponged with Distress "Twisted Citron" and "Salty Ocean" then adhered to inside.

Added a bunch more flowers from my stash. Added some Liquid Pearls "Key Lime" to the flower centers.
