ID: MC Sept/17 - Easel Flourished Ornament - ECD Christmas Joy - Christmas Eve card
size: 5"w x 7 (easel closed)

Created: September 15, 2017
Modified:

I love my gold mirror cardstock from DoCrafts. It's just so glorious...

I'm using a bunch of the newest an A Way With Words dies "Flourished Ornament, Joy";  "Flourished Frame" and one from a previous release "Merry Christmas 2" from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design HERE, HERE, and HERE

And using one of the newest quote stamps from Quietfire Design,

("Christmas Eve Was A Night of Song")

Scored, folded my gold toned cardstock (Paper-Garden.ca "Stardream Amber") to create the easel, cutting another piece the same size as card for the front. Cut a piece of the red textured cardstock, slightly smaller and adhered to front.

Created the ornament. Cut one complete from the gold mirror cardstock and set aside.

Cut some white cardstock a little larger than my circle. Adhered a piece of "Stick-It" to the front of the white cardstock. Cut another piece of "Stick-It" about the same size as the white cardstock. Layered the white cardstock and the extra piece of "Stick-It" and die cut the circle only.

Positioned my circle on my decorative background die (Frantic Stamper "Holly Card Panel"), with the "Stick-It" side facing the cutting edge. Run thru machine. Before removing the circle from the die, I adhered that 2nd piece of Stick-It to the die cut circle. This holds all the little pieces together and falling apart or out...

Remove from die and sprinkle with Glitter. I removed the release paper from the leafy area first (dark glitter first, lighter glitter 2nd is the basic rule...), sprinkled with 2 tones of micro fine green glitter, burnished. Removed the release paper from the background and sprinkled with Stickles dry glitter "Diamond". Burnished.

Adhered the gold ornament to card front. Carefully removed only some of the release paper from the circle and started sticking it to my card. When positioned in place, removed the rest of the release paper and pressed down firmly.

Die cut the "Christmas" and the "Joy" from the mirror cardstock and adhered to front.

On the floor:

Die cut the flourished frame from the mirror cardstock.

Used an x-acto blade to cut around the die frame from white cardstock.

Positioned my stamp to fall appropriately, inked with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.

There were 2 little sections where the frame interfered with the quote, so I surgically cut those parts away...
