ID: MC Oct/17 - Easel Poinsettia - ECD Dec 25 - Merry Christmas card
size: 5"w x 7"H (easel closed)

Created: September 30, 2017
Modified:

A couple of my quilling gal friends took some card classes recently using the Clearsnap Art Screens "Poinsettia" stencil They did such a nice job with the technique. They used color box pads, but I decided to use my Oxides instead...

I'm using an A Way With Words dies "Dec 25"  from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design HERE

I'm also using sentiment stamps from Quietfire Design.

("Merry Christmas Poinsettia" 2pce set);

Scored, folded my light lavender cardstock to create the easel. Cut another piece same size as card and adhered to front.

Created the background on white cardstock. First I electronically cut a large 6" poinsettia to use as a stencil (keeping the negative pieces for other parts of the card). Used a sponge and Distress Oxides, doing each flower in a different color. I also created a mask of the poinsettia, which I placed over each poinsettia and sponged some "Brushed Corduroy" in streaks away from the flower. Trimmed down and adhered to front.

The glittered flower on front is a smaller version which I didn't have success in electronically cutting - the lines where too thin to hold up to the sponging... But I used the negative pieces, inking with Imperial Purple and embossing with Emerald Creek "Mardis Gras" embossing powder. Added a glob of glue in the center of the flower and applied soft yellow Prills.

Die cut the "Dec 25" from a gold pearlized cardstock and adhered to front.

On the floor: Sponged the negative pieces of the 6"flower using "Worn Lipstick" and adhered to floor. Stamped the poinsettia with the lipstick and clear embossed. Painted with Distress pads. Fussy cut around the flourishes and adhered to the center of the negative pieced flower.

Stamped the "Merry Christmas on white cardstock using Versafine Vintage Sepia and embossed with Emerald Creek "Mirror Gold" embossing powder. Trimmed down and cut a picot edge. Adhered to floor with 3D tape to act as my stopper.
