ID: MC Jun/17 - Easel Oxide Koi - ECD Happy Birthday - How Lovely card
size: 5"w x 7"h (easel closed)

Created: June 8, 2017
Modified:

This is another one of my more recent Oxide backgrounds I made when with the gals. Still loving those subdued looks...

I'm using an A Way With Words die "Happy Birthday" from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design HERE

I'm using a quote stamp from Quietfire Design.

("How Lovely...")

Scored and folded my sage cardstock to create the easel, and cut another piece same size for the front.

See below for what the full sheet of the oxide background looked like prior cutting apart for this card.

I electronically cut the Koi (Designs By Ryn) and the Water Lily (My Favorite Things "Flowers 3pce set), first creating a silhouette image, importing into my electronic cutting software and then cutting. Stamping on the cut pieces with the stamp inked with Versafine Black Onyx. Colored the images with Prisma colored pencils.

Die cut the Bamboo Shoots (Memory Box) from a Color Burst/Brushos decorated cardstock.

Stamped the quote using the black and clear embossed.

On the floor:

Die cut the "Happy Birthday" from a pink cardstock. ran through my embossing machine using Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" and then hitting the high points with a purple pad. Adhered the word to the oxide background then onto the floor.

Added some pink flowers enhanced with mini half pearls.

Added a green/silver Sari bow and a lace butterfly.

Final touch, adhered a green floral button.

The stopper is a piece of the sage cardstock.

This is one of those backgrounds I used every color of Oxide pads on a craft sheet, misted with water and then pounced my heavy weight paper into the mess, repeating until the whole 9 x 12sheet was covered to my liking... I used the upper left hand piece for the front of this card and a portion of the lower left hand piece for the floor.
