ID: MC July 17 - Easel Embossed Shells - ECD Summer- In Summer The Song - HB card
size: 7"w x 5"h (easel closed)

Created: July 24, 2017
Modified:

Crafter's Companion is coming out with 3D embossing folders, and then I remembered Spellbinders did that several years ago... so I resurrected the 2 folders I have. This is one of them.

I'm using an A Way With Words die "4 Seasons - Summer" from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design HERE

And I'm using a quote stamp from Quietfire Design

("In Summer The Song..." ); ("Happy Birthday Plain and Simple" 7pce set)

Scored and folded my pumpkin  cardstock to create the easel. Cut another piece same size as front and adhered.

I had a watercolor painting I really wasn't happy with done on Arches 140# HP watercolor paper, so I decided it was time to cut it up... Used the backside and misted the painted side with water, then ran through my machine with Spellbinders 3D M'Bossibilites  "Shell Beauty". Dried and used Distress pads direct to paper, first with "Spun Sugar', then "Broken China", then "Twisted Citron" then with a Versafine pad "Toffee", clear embossed. Trimmed down and adhered to front.

Die cut the "Summer" from a Color Burst decorated paper. Raided my stash for the alphabet letters for "Time" (Elizabeth Craft Designs dies)

On the floor: Adhered apiece of Oxide decorated paper that reminded me of PEI beach. Stamped the sandpipers (Old Island Rubber Stamps) onto white cardstock using the black and clear embossed. Painted with an ochre and cut around the birds. Stamped the legs and water section onto the floor using "Majestic Blue" for the water and the black for the legs. Adhered the cut piece to the legs matching the stamping. This acted as part of my stopper.

Stamped the pelican (Old Island Rubber Stamps) on white cardstock using the black and clear embossed. Painted with brown and ochre and cut around the image. Cut a few more of the stump section and spliced them together. Partially adhered to floor acting as the other part of my stopper. Tied a piece of brownish twine around the stump.

Stamped the quote and sentiment with the black and clear embossed.
