ID: MC Apr/17 - Side Easel - Oxide Bkgr'd - ECD Happy Birthday - I Love That card
size: 4.25"w x 8.25"h

Created: April 2, 2017
Modified:

After playing with my friends at our recent get together I came home and played some more... I was really in a mood to create a rusty kind of background. Love it BIG GRIN

I'm  using an A Way With Words die from Elizabeth Craft Designs "Happy Birthday" 2pce die set, also available on Quietfire Design HERE

And using a quote stamp from Quietfire Design

("Always Be My Friend" 3pce set);

Scored and folded my bluish toned cardstock to create the side easel, then cut another piece same size as the card and adhered to the front.

Created the oxide background by smushing the pads onto my craft sheet ("Cracked Pistachio"; "Broken China"; "Fossilized Amber"; "Spiced Marmalade";) misting generously with water and patting my cardstock into the wetness. Dried. Repeated about 4 more times... Trimmed down by tearing the edges.

Sponged Distress "Vintage Photo" and "Walnut Stain" around the edges. Randomly embossed using my hard rubber mallet and Sizzix "Retro Circles" embossing folder.

Stamped various items the gears (Just Jhones) using Versafine Black Onyx and embossing with Emerald Creek "Oil Rubbed Bronze" embossing powder. The keys (Scroll Works) were stamped with the black and embossed with the Rubbed Bronze and "Verdigris" embossing powders. The barbed wire (Just Jhones) also with the black and the rubbed bronze.

 The gears on the edges are scraps from the floor gears die cut from gold mat board and Tim's "Gadget Gears" Bigz die. Then randomly hit with a Versamark pad and embossed with the Verdigris, then a Distress dabber Black Soot randomly flicked over the surface and edges.

 On the floor: Stamped the quote onto white cardstock using the black and clear embossed. Die cut using Elizabeth Craft Designs "Stitched Rectangles" die set, sponged around the edges with a dirty brown sponge.

Used scraps of the oxide background and adhered to floor then adhered the stamped quote piece.

Cut the gears as needed and adhered with 3D foam tape to use as stoppers.
