ID: MC Apr17 - Pigment Bejeweled - ECD With Sympathy - A Family  card
size: 7"w x 5"h

Created: April 1, 2017
Modified:

Continuing on with the expanded pigment technique mentioned on a previous card which you can see HERE and HERE that I was recently steered to, a technique I haven't tried yet using Versamark stamp pad and pigment powders... and gave it a whirl BIG GRIN

I'm  using an A Way With Words die from Elizabeth Craft Designs "With Sympathy" 2 pce die set, also available on Quietfire Design HERE

And using a quote stamp I don't think I've every used before from Quietfire Design

("A Family is a Circle...");

This flower was created with 4th generation stamping... The previous images are the sequence I used, lightly misting the stamp with Tim's mini mister  each time prior stamping.

I used my Misti to do the stamping, but it's not absolutely necessary to use one for this technique.

I inked the stamp with Versamark and carefully sprinkled the Color Burst pigments ("Fuchsia" and "Ultramarine" on the flowers and "Lime Green" and "Terre Vert" on the leaves). Used a Perfect Pearls soft bristle brush to pounce the colors (like a makeup blush brush). NOTE: Do not swirl or smudge the pigments. Misted with water and stamped.

NOTE: not too much water or you'll just get a very watery undetailed look.

Scored and folded my purple Bazzill monochromatic cardstock. Spliced on the front piece.

Selectively embossed the edges on my floral piece using my hard rubber mallet and Marianne Designs "Anja's Decorative Border" embossing folder. Hit the high points with Distress "Shaded Lilac".

Die cut the "With Sympathy" from the same purple cardstock as the card,  then adhered my decorative piece. Adhered a piece of purple Sari ribbon to the left edge.

Inside: I stamped the quote with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Used my Misti and inked the bird stamp (Penny Black "The Sweetest Sound") with Versamark. Sprinkled the powders (Color Burst "Yellow" and "Turquoise" on the bird; "Lime Green" and Terre Vert" on the leaves/branches; "Fuchsia" on the flowers) then pounced with my soft bristle brush. Misted with water and stamped on white cardstock (pics above). The 3rd generation stamping I did on my quote piece. I found the bird didn't have enough yellow on the body, so cleaned the stamp, reinked with the Versamark and sprinkled with yellow, pounced, misted and restamped.

Adhered to inside of card.
